2016 Fall Semester Capstone Winners

On the evening of December 19, the MRED students presented their semester projects for the Fall Capstone Competition. A panel of industry experts that included Van Anderson, Monument Bank, Rockville, MD; Daniel Henson, The Henson Development Corporation, Baltimore, MD ; Abraham Rosenthal, 28 Walker Development, Owings Mills, MD; Joshua Wooldridge, The Bainbridge Companies, Bethesda, MD and Steve Rubin, Harkins Builders, Marriottsville, MD were judges for the event.

The field was extremely talented and the competition was very tight. Congratulations Emilie Rottman who took first place ($1,000) for her project, The Concourse, Baltimore, MD; Christine Herbert won second place ($500) for The Madison, Baltimore, MD. Third place ($250) was awarded to Eric Maudlin-Jeronimo for Penn Station Flats, Baltimore, MD. All projects were mentored by Tim Pula, Beatty Development. Congratulations to all the students who worked very hard all semester and presented their projects.

A special thank you to the architects: Jack DeVilbiss, Bonstra/Haresign Architects and Michael Fischer, Fielding Nair International. And a special acknowledgement to Meghan Leahy, Dual Degree Architecture/Real Estate student, University of Maryland, for designing the posters an images. Many thanks to all who support and contribute so much time and expertise for our MRED students.
