May 14th Maryland Alumni Event

Over 100 Maryland graduates, young and "older" who are active in the real estate field attended the first-ever UMD Real Estate Terps "club" meeting that was held on May 14th at the CohnReznick offices in Bethesda, MD. UMD alums in real estate come together from such a wide variety of disciplines: engineering, business, information science, design, planning, and of course our newest real estate development grads from the focussed real estate development master's program at the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.

It was a special pleasure to have Dean Pines (pictured above right) from A.J. Clark School of Engineering, Dean Triantis (pictured above left) from Robert H. Smith School of Business and Dean Cronrath (pictured above middle) from the School of Architecture, Planning, Preservation give their short perspectives on real estate and their alums and celebrate multidisciplinary education, innovation and entrepreneurship from "Team Maryland." Many thanks were expressed for the contributions of A.J. Clark, Robert H.Smith and most especially John Colvin, whose gift made possible the establishment of the Colvin Institute in support of the MRED Graduate program in real estate, and all of whom have made possible the big footprint for real estate education at Maryland.
